About our packs
What is a castor oil pack?
A castor oil pack is a soft cloth wrap that holds a flannel soaked in castor oil against your skin. Ours tie around the body with long cotton straps, so the flannel stays in place while you rest.
What are your packs made from?
The outer pack is 100% cotton (organic cotton on our organic range), and the flannel insert is GOTS certified organic cotton. There's no plastic, polyurethane (PU) or vinyl anywhere in the pack, so nothing synthetic sits between you and the flannel.
Why no plastic or vinyl?
Many castor oil packs sold online use a PU or vinyl backing to stop the oil soaking through. We wanted a pack made only from natural fibres, so ours are cotton through and through.
Will my pack look exactly like the photos?
Every pack is cut, layered and stitched by hand in our studio in England, so pattern placement and stitching can vary slightly from one pack to the next.

What size is it?
Our standard packs measure about 55 × 23 cm, with cotton ties of about 115–125 cm each, so they fit all sizes. The premium unbleached pack comes in two sizes, XS–M and L–XL.
Is castor oil included?
No, castor oil is sold separately. You can add our organic castor oil, 200ml to your order.
Using your pack
How do I use it?
Warm a little castor oil and soak the flannel insert, place the pack where you want it and tie the straps, then lie back and rest. Our how to use guide walks you through each step.
How long should I leave it on?
Many people rest with their pack for between 30 minutes and 2 hours. Start with a shorter session and see what feels right for you.
Can I use heat with it?
Yes. A hot water bottle placed over the pack adds gentle warmth. Fill it with hot, not boiling, water, and don't fall asleep with a hot water bottle in place.
Is it safe for everyone?
Castor oil packs are for external use only. Do a patch test with your castor oil before first use, and don't use a pack on broken or irritated skin. They are not suitable during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you have a medical condition or are unsure, check with your doctor first.
Care
Can I wash my pack?
Yes, the outer pack is fully washable at up to 60°C. Take out the oiled flannel before washing. Castor oil can stain, so use an old towel underneath you while you rest.
How do I store the oiled flannel?
You can reuse the oiled flannel for several sessions. Keep it in a sealed container between uses, and replace it if it starts to smell unpleasant or change colour. Spare flannels are available in our oil and accessories range.
